E’ proprio così, non c’è trucco e non c’è inganno, il bellissimo Jet Set Radio, uscito nel 2000 su Dreamcast si appresta a tornare in versione HD anche sui nostri amati iDevice. SEGA ha confermato che il porting sarà fedelissimo all’originale ma sfrutterà il display Retina e la fotocamera del telefono per fotografare i propri graffiti e condividerli su Facebook/Twitter.
La grafica in cel-shading ha creato una moda ai tempi (la prima presentazione di JSR è avvenuta al Tokyo Game Show 1999) ed ancora oggi è veramente stilosa, sicuramente lo stile particolare di Jet Set Radio verrà valorizzato non poco dal display Retina. Anche la splendida colonna sonora tornerà nella sua interezza, con brani di B.B. Rights, Hideki Naganuma, Rob Zombie, O.B. One, Jurassic 5 e Idol Taxi.
Il gameplay, come detto, non dovrebbe subire modifiche di alcun tipo, anzi, nel porting per iOS sarà possibile fotografare le proprie opere e condividerle sui social network, una aggiunta non da poco. Confermato anche il supporto per il multiplayer online, con compatibilità per il protocollo OpenFeint, a quanto pare Game Center non sarà supportato.
Jet Set Radio sarà disponibile su App Store nel corso di questa calda estate 2012, purtroppo SEGA non ha rivelato la data precisa, ma possiamo aspettarci un rilascio previsto indicativamente per il mese di agosto, in contemporanea con le versioni PC, Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3. Anche il prezzo del gioco è avvolto nel mistero, ma per un capolavoro come Jet Set Radio siamo ben disposti a spendere qualche soldino.
